Laser tattoo removal

Tattoo removal
Tattoos have grown particularly popular over the last ten years. Yet while many people want to get them, just as many want to get rid of them. Tattoos are created by injecting coloured pigments into tiny holes made in the skin. The results are more or less permanent regardless of whether the pigment has been injected by a professional tattoo artist or an amateur. Many of us come to the realization that the tattoo we thought would be perfect forever is now a liability either for professional or social reasons. There is now a solution for most tattoos depending on the colour and how the tattoo was first applied.

Dr. Hébert considers laser surgery the best method for removing tattoos. Pulses of light from a laser are directed onto the tattoo to break up the pigment. How it works is that over the weeks following each treatment, macrophages in the body eliminate the pigments that have been destroyed. Generally, several treatments are needed to get rid of the entire tattoo.

Dr. Hébert sees all patients to decide on how many treatments will be necessary and what you may expect as a final result, then one of our medical estheticians will perform the treatment.
